Team Central settled in at 3rd place after leading the games tally for a fair bit of time.
Team Central was out paced especially in sports we never fielded a team. But that is not to say Team Central is whinging.
Team Central has proven against all odds by been good ambassadors of Central Province and of course good sports men and sports women.
Team Central general behaviour both on the field and off the field got praised initially from the PNG Games organizing committee and the host school that accommodated them – Lae Secondary school.
As a going finished token of appreciated, Team Central Management, gave the school all gear that they brought for their own use like eskees and coolders and K1000.00.
The principal of Lae Secondary in his parting farewell remarks said he was very humbled by the gesture shown and the well behaved participants who respected the laws/rules set in place by the school management.
On the political front, Governor Kilala Haoda lead the delegation of all LLG Presidents of all Central Province Districts.
Goilala was presented by District Admiistrator Jimmy Anava, District Tresurer Terence, Woitape LLG President Joe Geru and Guari LLG President Patrick Bauai. Tapini LLG President Keloto Peto stayed back because attended the Opening Ceremony with the Governor initially.
The Goilala District leaders met Team Central, contributed their appreciate of K2000.00 toward the team’s miscellaneous costs.
Goilala District’s sportsmen and sportswomen who were part of Team Central also got time made available for them by Goilala District leaders.
All in All, no one expected Team Central to perform in the way it did.
