GUARI PEACE RESTORATION TAKES SOME SERIOUS LOOK – TORORO
Guari LLG is one of the 3 LLGs that make up the Goilala District. Guari LLG has 4 wards and boosts a population of about 10,000 people.
In the recent past Guari has been crippled and brought down to its knees by law and order issues which culminated to a major blow of having their own local priest slain at Kamulai Missions station.
Guari LLG people’s own action has resulted in them suffering for a decade of more now – lack of government services and depriving of school ages kids access to education and absence of basic health care.
Guari Station has turned into a ghost town haunted by wild animals and covered in over grown bushes, there is no sign of government services in this sub district head quarters.
ENTER GUARI PEACE RESTORATION COMMITTEE & FRANCIS JAVIA.
In Goilala, when it comes to Human Resources, Guari LLG boosts a very large number of educated elites in nearly every modern day private and public sectors.
Seeing the need for peace and normalcy in Guari, one of its own child Francis Javia stepped into the hot spot and made a play with the Central Provincial Government to seek some help in assisting to bring about peace and normalcy back in Guari LLG.
Mr Javia’s efforts stroke gold and the subsequent actions and reaction is only a testimony to the living legacy that will go a long way to helping to restore peace and law and order in Guari for the people of Guari LLG to enjoy and live a normal life.
This coming weekend [21 -22 May 2016] there will be a couple of announcements made in Tororo village, just a few kilometers away from Tapini station.
1. PEACE RESTORATION AND COMPENSATION – BIZOA and ELI TRIBES
The main instigators of the law and order crisis in Guari LLG are the ELI and BIZOA tribes. It is only logical that these two tribes compromise and make peace before rest of Guari LLG can live to see peace restored throughout the LLG.
2. TAPINI – GUARI ROAD CONSTRUCTION
The Goilala District Development Authority, during its Dubuy Highway session approved funding for Tapini [Potoro] – Guari road. And so this announcement will pave the way for the local communities to help clean and clear [general cleaning] the road start off at Potoro and end it at Guari station.
Plans are afoot to have machinery put into this road once the general cleaning phase is completed.
3. RELIEF SUPPLY DISTRIBUTION & GUARI STATION RESTORATION.
Guari Station is the primary target in this whole plans. It is hope that during the road construction heading towards Guari station, and Rural Airstrip Agency project to have the airstrip re-opened, with a VISAT installed in Guari, completed, Guari Station will see the whole of Guari LLG converge into one location to formalise and reconcile for the general restoration of services in Guari LLG.
Coinciding with the road contract general cleaning and peace between Bizoa and Eli Tribes, will see relief supplies dropped in.
