After concluding the 5th DDA Meeting recently held at Ononge on Wednesday 31st August 2016, Goilala Open MP Honorable William Samb has decided to spend some time with his people.
The Honorable MP will take a walk from Ononge through to Visi, spend a night there, then walk to Kase, overnight there and then make his way further into Tafade, which is the last village before one either enters Kairuku Hiri District over the ranges coming in from Goilala, or reaches Goilala District’s Woitape LLG from Port Moresby.
Member, with a couple of officers, started walking toward Tafade this morning [1st Sept 2016].
They will officiate at an Agriculture projected at a village before near Ononge village. Then walk onto Visi, spend a night there and head onwards to Kase. After Kase, MP and his team will walk onto Tafade to officiate at the Dubuy Highway exit point – first contact point for Dubbuy Highway to Goilala – customary ceremony.
Telling by the Distance, MP will reach Tafade by Sunday and will be extracted on Monday.
Dubbuy Highway will pass through customary land and forbidden spots hence customary rituals has to be done performed as a way of approval of whatever changes is been planned for this side of Goilala.
District CEO Titus Girau and rest of the DDA Team, comprising of the 3 LLG Presidents and Officers from the Member’s Office with the media team are will be extracted back to Port Moresby today.
The Head Teacher of Ononge Primary school, when talking to me this morning said, he was able to call his family in Trobriand Island from his school. He can access Internet as well. And he is even on Facebook too.
His laptop was on charged right when he was talking to me, once charged, he will get online and accept my request, and i will add him to our District Facebook group for his personal opinion.
