When Goilala MP Hon William Samb entered office in August 2015, his District Development Authority embarked on Socio-Economics as one of their priority areas to address.
Michael Atuai was taken onboard as the lead in this farming project. Mr. Atuai tapped into Fresh Produce Development Agency, and National Agriculture Research Institute network and resources. They source these seeds from Wabag’s seed nursery to supply Goilala District.
So far, GDDA has delivered potato seeds into Tanipai, Kosipe, Fane, Ononge and Kambisea.
Out of the recently sourced 50 potato bags bought from the FPDA facilitated arrangement from Wabag, 20 bags were flown into Yongai, using the GDDA established MOU arrangement with Manolos Aviation out of Lae, Morobe Province.
Sopu, Tapini, Kailape and Tolokuma will have their potato seeds dropped in a few days time.
Joel is in Yongai now and will make his way to Sopu en route to Tapini as soon as sopu and tapini seeds are dropped off.
