MULE TRACK NETWORK THROUGHOUT GOILALA.

The Goilala HW was built by the Govt. So did the stretch running between Kosipe and Tapini via Tanipai, Minalu and Koruavu.

Map of Goilala District showing mule tracks

Goilala DDA has started work on Dubuy Track but will cut through from Kuriva. Not tracing the original point at Mariboi along the Hiritano HW.

TGM and MRA have started talks on the TGM-BAKO road stretch. Hopefully these talks materialize.

Mules with cargo loaded

While Goilala DDA is close to doing a ground breaking for work to start on the complete re-works on the Goilala HW.

Going by the direction and intent of the Goilala DDA and Govt of PNG and Provincial Govt under Governor Agarobe, these MULE TRACK network throughout Goilala might be taking a REVISIT.

The early Catholic Church Priests when they planned that path, they planned it that the mule tracks has to go through densely populated valleys and main villages communities.

Thank you very much to the early Catholic Church Missionaries who look 40 years into the future and built these mule tracks.

Thank You also to the people of Goilala from all language groups – Fuyuge, Tauwade and Gunimaipa – who helped the Priests build this roads – FOR FREE.

They never got a penny for the work.

DO YOU THINK THESE PEOPLE WERE INVESTING INTO THE FUTURE?

Compare the Goilala people THEN to Goilala people NOW.

Notice the difference?

They worked for FREE. We want to be PAID.

A TRUE SUCCESS STORY OF A REMOTE SCHOOL IN GOILALA – MR.KOMBIL

Spent last week at Sacred Heart Secondary School Tapini and it was an Awesome experience.

The cool highlands climate, fresh vegetables, jungle juice, 24 hours hydro electricity, and the committed staff, inquisitive students and the friendly locals is an experience of a life time.

No wonder Sacred Heart is amongst the top 10 schools in the Country and will continue to maintain and improve on this position.

A Congratulatory Shout out to Fr. Brian, the Catholic Agency, Bro Micheal, the current and former Principals and students, Goilala District Admin and Central Prov Admin for its Success.

A true Success Story of a remote school in the back page of PNG.👍👏🎉🎊🎈⛳

GUARI LLG LAW & ORDER SITUATION – NEEDS MORE ATTENTION

PEACE has been restored. warring tribes and clans have reconciled and forgiven each other. The long-awaited restoration of law and order in Guari LLG has finally returned.

Guari LLG has long been plagued by lawlessness and criminal activities. Lack of presence of law and order in Guari LLG resulted in people taking laws into their own hands

Admin Note: Read the above Story to fully understand the issue discussed to then continue with this.

HAS THIS PEACE RESOLUTION, BUDGETED AND FUNDED BY GOILALA DDA UNDER THE CHAIRMAN AND OPEN MP WILLIAM SAMB, REALLY ACHIEVED ITS INTENDED PURPOSE?

Guari Peace Restoration - Gagave
Guari Peace Restoration Ceremony held at Gagave in August 2016

Guari LLG in Goilala is unsafe for public servants and other service providers who go in there.

This unsafe status has come to be a norm because of largely lack of law and order in the LLG and lack of Government services and public servants.

Lack of law and order has led to killings which then led to payback killings which subsequently led to more killings.

This zigzaw puzzle/chain of inter related killings has only resulted in public servants not wanting to go in.

The locals know why and how and who and when of the whole situation from start up to current but what are they doing to help resolve this conflict?

Guari Peace Restoration Ceremony - Gagave
Guari Peace Restoration Ceremony – Gagave

Guari LLG in Goilala is the source of very highly educated, professionals who are holding very senior positions in both public and private sector in PNG and even abroad.

But what is their input in trying to help resolve this long outstanding conflict to enable the restoration of normalcy as well as basic services into Guari LLG?

Where is the LLG councilors and their President?

Where is the community leaders of various waring tribes?

Goilala MP William Samb with his DDA has made the initial move.

Goilala MP [2015-2017] Crowned in Gagave
Formalities performed on the Goilala MP Hon. William Samb during the Peace Restoration ceremony in Gagave in 2016.
Now can the Guari LLG top brass take the lead and help bring this to an end?Schools are closed. School ages kids are now grown into adults and have married. More kids are left uneducated.

Health centres are closed. Sick and injured are left to die because its just impossible to bring them into Tapini station to be treated.

Local Knowledge is missing in this conflict resolution.

Who is LOCAL KNOWLEDGE?

YONGAI AIRSTRIP DONE, SOPU AIRSTRIP BEGINS – RURAL AIRSTRIP AGENCY.

Rural Airstrip Agency has been engaged by Goilala District Development Authority to help reopen all its airstrips across the District.
Yongai Airstrip

After PNG Air Limited, formerly MBA [Milne Bay Air] pulled out its services to focus major clients like the LNG operation charters in Gulf Province and the PNG LNG Project in Southern Highland, Goilala District and her people got starved of any genuine airline operators.

Air transport in Goilala died a natural death. resulting in all its airstrips closing down all across Goilala.

RAA Team touches down at Sopu to work on the airstrip

When Goilala William Samb got elected in 2015 By-Election, Samb promised the people of Goilala to revive the transport service in Goilala.

This assurance has seen Goilala Highway getting some attention, with another road project known as the Dubuy Road Project getting off the ground.

OVERVIEW: COMMUNICATION ACCESS IN GOILALA

TGM area, with areas around Tapini station up to Kerau are visibly having large areas without VSAT presence.

For anyone that don’t know, TGM has Digicel coverage, so is Tapini station.

Tapini station Tower feeds Tororo, Lavavai, up to Kerau and Koruavu and down Pilitu areas.

Minaru and Lolope with ilaiap villages are in the dark spots for coverage.

TGM feeds the whole of Auga valley.
Dilava is behind the ranges after Fane so Kodige gets a VSAT to help cover these areas.

OMU VILLAGE BRIDGES DIGITAL DIVIDE

2763245 is the number to call Omu.

I just called and great to know that the years of feeling Isolated and Neglected by this remote communities in Goilala is coming to an end.

I experienced the feeling last week while in Kosipe last week where Airborne Logistics chopper would not come in due to weather and other issues. I had to send people to the next Digicel signal location to make to call to a friends of my ordeal.

I left Kosipe three days later than scheduled. Thanks to Anthony Morant.

With that experience i know how powerful access to communication is. For those of us in the comforts of our mobile keyboards criticising the Visat project are encouraged to put yourself in the shoes of our families in those isolated and remote communities and feel what they feel and how much they appreciate such developments.

On that token I encourage all Guari elites to ensure our people take good care of such initiatives.

As the Chinese believe .. A journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step

I look forward to getting to Omu and Rupila and Guari LLG with the Agriculture team to boost the untapped Agriculture Economic potential.

Thanks to Hon. William and his DDA.

Long live the Goilala Dream!!

GUNIMAIPA’S HOST PEACE CEREMONY – GUARI

A peace ceremony held yesterday near the border of Central and Morobe has paved the way for a road linking Papua and New Guinea.
IMG-20160808-WA006

The ceremony in the mountainous Gagavi village in Goilala, Central, will also make way for the installation of a VSat communication network to enable government services to reach these remote areas.

IMG-20160808-WA015

Goilala MP and deputy Pangu Pati leader William Samb said the road and communication infrastructure were being built with government funds so no one owned them.
IMG-20160808-WA018

“Before these infrastructures are built, there has to be peace,” he said.
“There is no point in putting up the VSat dish and it gets destroyed when there is no peace.

Likewise, in road construction, equipment is destroyed and workers are harassed if there’s no peace.”
IMG-20160808-WA012

The ceremony was held to end a tribal conflict between Eli and Bisowa villages in the Kunimaipa area of the Guari LLG.

The conflict started in 2014 over a domestic fight where a man killed his wife in Bisowa.
The deceased’s relatives from Eli retaliated, resulting in seven villagers being killed.
Neighboringvillagers intervened and fighting escalated, resulting in the withdrawal of basic governments services like health and education in the Kunimaipa area.
IMG-20160808-WA001

The withdrawal of government services affected over 1000 people.
IMG-20160808-WA007

The Bisowa villagers fled the area to find refuge in friendly neighboring villages.
